Found in Sulawesi and the Philippines in primary forests along roads and on trees in farmland at elevations of 800 to 1300 meters as a warm to cool growing epiphyte with, large, chocolate brown pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on 1 to 2, axillary, single flowered inflorescence
