Common Name Kunstler's Flickingeria [Orchid Collector in Malaysia 1800's]

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Found in Malaysia and Sumatra at elevations of 150 to 300 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with elongate-fusiform pseudobulbs carrying a single elliptic-oblong to lanceoalte-obtuse, acute to acuminate leaf that blooms in the winter on a short, single flowered inflorescence carrying a very short lived, fragrant flower.

Often cited as a synonym of F fimbriata but this one differs in the much larger, broader coriaceous leaves, the acute side lobes of the lip and very large midlobe of the lip that is quadrate and although is similarly plaited it is not bifid and has undulate sides.
