Found in southeastern Florida and Cuba in hardwood hammocks at lower elevations as a giant sized, warm growing terrestrial with 1 to 2, light green, plicate, lanceolate leaves that are not present at flowering, occuring in the fall on an erect, to 3' 4" [1 meter] long, 3 to 17 flowered, racemose inflorescence
