Common Name Greenwood's Galeandra [Canada-Mexican Orchid Enthuisiast current]

Flower Size

Found in Oaxaca state of Mexico on the Pacific slope at elevations around 300 meters and is a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with swollen pseudobulb bases [separates it from G batemanii even out of flower]. This species has the largest flowers in the genus and will rebloom for years out of the same inflorescence with fragrant flowers akin to a wet dog.

Very similar to G batemanii but G greenwoodiana is a much larger plant with lighter leaves than G batemanii
