Common Name or Meaning The Graceful Gastrodia - In Japan Nayo-tenma
Flower Size .24 to .28" [6 to 7 mm long]
Found in Honshu Japan and central and northern Taiwan in wet montane evergreen broadleaf forests at elevations of 600 to 1500 meters as a miniature to medium sized, cool to cold growing mycoheterotrophic terrestrial that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, long pedunculate, 5 to 15 flowered inflorescence with ovate to elliptic, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts
