Common Name Holttum's Gastrodia [English Botanist in Malaysia 1900's]

Flower Size

Found in penninsular Malaysia at elevations around 400 meters as a miniature [in flower] to medium [in fruit] sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial orchid with constricted at intervals tubers giving rise in the spring to a 4" [10 cm] long, erect, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence carrying drooping flowers that last a single day.
