Found in Japan on Kuroshima island off the coast of Kyushu at elevations of sealevel to 100 meters as a miniaqture to small sized, hot growing mycohetrotrophic terretrial with a tuberous, fusiform to cylindrical rhizome that blooms in the spring on an eret, pale brown, 3.2 to 6.4" [17 cm] long, provided with 3 to 4 nodes and tubular, membraneaous sheaths, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence with ovate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying tubular slightly upwards, resupinate flowers.
