Found in northern and central Taiwan in forests at elevations around 900 to 1500 meters as a miniature to medium sized, warm to cool growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with a fleshy, villous rhizome giving rise in the fall to an erect, pale, white brown, to 8 to 12.8" [20 to 32 cm] long, laxly 2 to 8 flowered inflorescence with several basal sheaths and pale brown, narrowly oblong-ovate, acute apically floral bracts and carrying erect, not opening widely, non-resupinate flowers.
