Found in Queensland Australia in shady locations within lowland rainforests at elevations of 10 to 400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial orchid without leaves that has an erect, 12 to 28" [30 to 70 cm] long, dark purple, white flecked, slender, fleshy stem that blooms in the mid spring through early summer on an erect, 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence
