Found in Japan and Taiwan in forests at elevations around 1600 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a creeping stem enveloped completely by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying ovate-elliptic to oblanceolate, acute to apiculate, fleshy, coriaceous, twisted and atriculated basally to the leaf sheaths, green and brown spotted leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long, few [3 to 4] flowered inflorescence.
