Common Name The Tembat Forest Reserve Gastrodia [An area of northern Vietnam]

Found in penninsular Malaysia at elevations around 270 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial with a slightly laterally flattened, brown tuber giving rise in the spring to an erect, fleshy, cream to brown, warty towards the apex, peduncle to 4" [10 cm] long, with 6 brown sterile bracts, rachis to .2" [5 mm] long, successively 1 to 2, 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence .
