Common Name Matsuda's Gastrochilus
Flower Size .32 to .4" [.8 to 1 cm]
Found in central Taiwan in montne, primary coniferous forests on mossy trunks and branches of trees at elevations of 1800 to 2300 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with an elongate, creeping stem carrying 8 to 33, distichous, linear-lanceolate to oblong, green, more or less spotted with red or puplish red, softly coriaceous leaves that blooms in nthe fall on a short, arising from the sheath of the terminal stems, .2 to .8" [.5 to 2 cm] long, 3 to 6, rarely 11 flowered inflorescence.
