Common Name The Chinese Gastrochilus - In China Zhong Hua Pen Ju Lan

Found in northern Fujian, northeastern Guizhou and northwestern Yunnan provinces of China in forests on tree trunks or on rocks along valleys at elevations around 800 to 3200 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a repent, slender stem carrying distichous, well spaced, green with purple red spots, elliptic to oblong, acute, 3 awned apically leaves that blooms in the fall on 2 to 3, .4" [1 cm] long, 2 to 3 flowered, subumbellate inflorescence with the upper part enlarged and with ovate-triangular floral bracts.
