Gavilea venosa (Lam.) Garay & Ormerod 2002 Photo by © Pablo Bravo Monasterio and his Chilebosque website
Common Name The Veined Gavilea
Found in central Chile as a cold growing terrestrial that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect many flowered inflorescence
This species and G leucantha are similar and many references put them as synomonous with this one taking precedence. I can see various differences and they are obviously closely related, but I will leave them separate at this time
CAUTION I have no way of verifying this determination so please use with caution
Synonyms Asarca feuilleana Kraenzl. 1903; Gavilea feuilleana (Kraenzl.) Lehnebach 2003; *Limodorum venosum Lam. 1792
