Found in New Guinea at elevations around 2400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple to sometimes branching, terete, densely leafy stems carrying erect-patent to patent, fleshy, glabrous, ligulate, obtuse, narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are whitish and the apex is black.
