Found in New Guinea in montane forests at elevations of 1200 meters as a small to medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with an erect, branching, short rhizome giving rise to rigid, densely leafy stems carrying erect-patent, fleshy, dorsally carinate, linear, acute, shorty petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later winter on an erect, capitate, nutant, several flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states the flowers are white with a green lip and a black apex and a brown anther with a white appendage.
