Common Name The Major Glossodia - Waxlip Orchid - Parson in the Pulpit
Flower Size 1.2 to 1.8" [ 3 to 4.5 cm]
Found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia occuring in open forest, heathy woodlands and often abundant in clayey soils at elevations of 5 to 800 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a prostate, dark green, elliptic, acute leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 4 to 12" [10 to 30 cm] long, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence carrying lightly scented flowers.
