Common Name Jaramillo's Gomphichis [Colombian Collector of orchids]

Flower Size

Found in Cundinamarca, Huila, Magdalena, Risaralda and Tolima departments of Colombia as well as Mérida Venezuela in subparamo and paramo forests at elevations around 2500 to 3700 meters as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with 1 basal, withered at blooming leaf that blooms at most time of the year on a terminal, erect, with 7 glabrous bracts, glabrous below, glandular above, to 30" [75 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceoalte, somewhat oblique floral bracts.
