Common Name Lozano's Gomphichis [Colombian collector of type current]

Found in Antioquia, Cauca, Chocó, Cundinamarca and Norte de Santander departments of Colombia in cloud forests at elevations around 2300 to 2900 meters as a giant sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2 to 5, basal and a single cauline, linear-oblanceolate to oblanceolate, acute, tapering towards the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later summer fall and early winter on a terminal, erect, with 4 to 7 slender, erect, delicate, glabrous below, glanular above bracts, to 48" [120 cm] long, cylindrical, laxly many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, somewhat oblique, pubescent margined floral bracts and carrying relatively small flowers.
