Found in Cundinamarca department of Colombia in paramo at elevations around 3600 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with 4, basal, rosulate, lanceolate, acute, sessile leaves with 4 cauline sheaths above in the winter on a terminal, erect, axis glandular, peduncle to 8.8" [22 cm] long, rachis to 3.2" [8 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, almost glabrous, twice as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying smallflowers with externally glandular sepals.
