Found in western Colombia in mangrove swamps at or near sealevel as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid, deeply longitudinally sulcate pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, erect, elliptic, plicate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate petiolate base leaves that can bloom at any time during the year on a basal, pendulous, 10" [25 cm] long, loosely several to many flowered inflorescence.
