Common Name The Rio Jurua Gongora [A river in Amazonas Brazil]
Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm] wide
Found in Amazonas Brazil at elevations around 40 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovoid, deeply ribbed, pale green pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, thin, plicate, elliptic, strongly nerved abaxially, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the channeled, short, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later summer and earlier fall on a basal, pendent, racemose, to 20" [50 cm] long, green, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence with yellow, persistent, triangular, acute floral bracts carrying non-resupinate flowers
