Found in Colombia as a small sized epiphyte with ovoid, sulcate pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, plicate, elliptic-acuminate, attenuate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late fall and winter on a pendant several flowered inflorescence with fragrant flowers.

Stated by some authors to be a synonym of G scaphephorus but many differences are obvious so I leave it separate.
