Common Name The Bizarre Gongora

Flower Size 2 3/4" [8.75 cm]

Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in wet montane forests at elevations around 1000 to 1100 meters as a medium to large sized, cool to warm growing epiphytic species with narrowly ovoid, ridged pseudobulbs carrying to 3, erect, plicate, elliptical, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the channeled, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on a basal, to 2' [60 cm] long, pendant, densly many flowered inflorescence with spicily fragrant, longer-lasting flowers occuring in the spring.
