Found in northeast and central eastern Madagascar in humid evergreen forests at elevations around 200 to 1000 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or terrestrial with 5 to 7, narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, cuneate-rounded below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, basally glabrous becoming glandular-pubescent above, with 3 to 4 distant, lanceolate, acuminate bracts, 9.2 to 12" [23 to 30 cm] long overall, rachis 5.2 to 7.2" [13 to 18 cm] long, laxly 5 to 10 flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, as long as the ovary floral bracts.
