Common Name The November Blooming Goodyera

Found in Sumatra, Java, the lesser Sunda Islands and possibly New Guinea in dark primary forests at elevations of 700 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool terrestrial with ovate, acuminate, light green, finely veined dark green, narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, pubescent, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with brick red, linear floral bracts that are longer than the flowers and carrying successively opening, golden yellow, wide open flowers with about 15 open at a time.
