Found in Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Mew York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a whorl of basal, tesselated, dark green and light green, acute leaves that blooms in the mid summer to early fall on a terminal, erect, 3.2 to 7.2" [8 to 18 cm] long, 12 to 20 flowered inflorescence
