Found in Costa Rica at elevations around 2000 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a flexuous rhizome giving rise to a terete stem carrying laxly 6, erect-patent, obliquely elliptic, acute to acuminate, cuneate below into the canaliculate petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, to 10" [25 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, slightly shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
