Flower Size .4 to .6" [1 to 1.5 cm]

Found on Lan Yu [Orchid Island] Taiwan in rain forests at elevations of 250 to 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial with a creeping rhizome giving rise to an ascending, terete leafy stem carrying 4 to 5, in a rosette, obliquely ovate-elliptic, greyish green above, reticulate veined beneath, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, terete, to 8" [20 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence.
