Common Name Yami's Goodyera - In China Lan Yu Ban Ye Lan

Found on Lan Yu [Orchid Island] Taiwan in rain forests at elevations of 250 to 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial with a creeping rhizome giving rise to an ascending, terete leafy stem carrying 4 to 5, in a rosette, obliquely ovate-elliptic, greyish green above, reticulate veined beneath, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, terete, peduncle green, to 4.8" [12 cm] long, glabrous to sparsely pubescent, provided with 3 sterile bracts, rachis 2.4 to 3.2" [6 to 8 cm] long, to 8" [20 cm] long, cylindrical, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate glabrous, acuminate floral bracts.
