Found in Guangdong province of China and Taiwan in forests in shady, damp locations at elevations of 300 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an ascending stem carrying 3 to 5, well spaced along the stem, abaxially green, adaxially green with white reticulation and sometimes with a white stripe on the midvein, ovate to oblong-lanceolate, acute, rounded below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, red to reddish brown, sparsely pubescent, subsecund, 1.6 to 3.2" [4 to 8 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
