Found in south western Madagascar in seasonally dry, deciduous forest or woodland at elevations of 300 to 800 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte on large trees with clustered, conical pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 5, loriform, plicate leaves that blooms in the later spring on a spreading, to 20" [50 cm] long, 15 to 20 flowered inflorescence
