Found in northeastern Madagascar at elevations around 600 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with ovoid-ellipsoid, closely adpressed pseudobulbs with the older ones being leafless and the newest carrying 4 to 5, linear-acute leaves that blooms in the spring after leaf fall on a racemose to paniculate, loosely many flowered inflorescence.
