Found on Luzon Island in the Philippines on Mount Boadan on open slopes at elevations around 1800 meters as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect, thin stem carrying several, congested in the middle of the stem, lanceolate, acuminate, acute, crenulate-undulate margined, dark green above, pale green beneath leaves that blooms in the late summer on an erect, terminal, to 5.4" [13.5 cm] long, sublax, several flowered inflorescence with lanceoalte, acuminate, acute, shorter to just a bit longer than the ovary.

Habenaria stenopetala but H boadanensis differs in smaller flowers and shorter leaves and has a more slender inflorescence.
