Common Name The Bracted Habenaria

Flower Size 1 1/4" [3 cm]

Found from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina near or in water and marshes as a large sized, warm growing terrestrial orchid at elevations of 550 to 1000 meters with a leafy stem carrying linear to narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, conduplicate below, carinate leaves that blooms in the spring through fall on a terminal, laxly few to several flowered, to 20" [50 cm] long, racemose inflorescence.
