Common Name The Bracted Habenaria
Flower Size 1 1/4" [3 cm]
Found from Venezuela?, Brazil, Ecuador?, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina near or in water and marshes as a large sized, hot to warm growing, terrestrial orchid at elevations of 550 to 850 meters with a leafy stem carrying linear to narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, conduplicate below, carinate leaves that blooms with a terminal, laxly few to several flowered, to 20" [50 cm] long, racemose inflorescence occuring from the spring through fall.
