Found in Matto Grosso, DF, Goias, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janiero and SaoPaulo states of Brazil in galery and dry forests as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with an erect stem envelopd completely by leaf bearing sheaths carrying 5 to9, spaced small to large ascending the stem, ellipitc, acute leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on an erect, terminal, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, acute to acuminate floral bracts
