Common Name The Two-Leaved Habenaria - in China Er Ye Yu Feng Hua
Flower Size .2 to .38" [5 to 9 mm]
Found in the the Chinese Himalayas, India, Bangladesh, the eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand and the Philippines on open grassy, subalpine slopes at elevations of 3300 to 4900 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with ovoid-fusiform tubers giving rise to an erect stem enveloped by a single, basal sheath and carrying from below the middle of the stem, a single, narrowly elliptic-oblong, obtuse to subacute, tapering below into a long, narrow tubular sheath leaves that blooms in the summer, fall and winter on an erect, minutely glandular-pubescent, decurved, .6 to 1.6" [1.5 to 4 cm] long, rather laxly 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, glandular-pubescent margined, 5 veined, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying narrowly campanulate, white flowers.
