Common Name Dutra's Habenaria [Brazilian Original Collector of species 1900's]

Flower Size .5" [1.25 cm]

Found in Rio Grande do Sul state of Brazil as a giant sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, robust stem carrying 7 to 8, erect-patent, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, more or less acute to acuminate, gradually decreasing in size above leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, to 8" [20 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with patent to somewhat recurved, ellipticv-lanceolate, acuminate, as long as the ovary floral bracts decreasing in size above.

Most similar to H achnantha which occurs farther to the north but is distinguished by the individual flower parts.
