Common Name Edwall's Habenaria [Swedish Orchid Collector in Brazil early 1900's]
Flower Size .4" [1 cm]
Found in DF Goias, Parana', Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo states of Brazil in flooded grasslands as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with an ovoid tuber giving rise to an erect stem enveloped almost completely by linear, acute, basally clasping leaves grading smaller above that blooms in the later spring and early summer on an erect, 1.2 to 3.2" [3 to 8 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence with ovate-oblong. long, acuminate, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
