Common Name Ernest's Habenaria [Ernest Ule German Botanist later 1800's early 1900's]
Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]
Found in Venezuela, Guyana, French Guiana and northern Brazil in cloud forests at elevations around 1200 to 1300 meters as a large sized, cool growing terreestrial with a basal tuber giving rise to a terete, robust stem enveloped completely by leaf sheath bases carrying cauline, suberect, glaucous green, shiny bract-like leaves grading into the bracts above that blooms on a terminal, erect, 4" [10 cm] long, laxly several to many flowered inflorescence with acuminate floral bracs and carrying resupinate, green to whitish green flowers.
