Found in Oaxaca Mexico at elevations around 2750 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with an ovate tuber giving rise to an erect, stem carrying ovate-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the later summer on a terminal, erct, 1.2 to 5" [3 to 12.5 cm] long, spicate, laxly 5 to 20 flowered inflorescence with acuminate, acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
