Found in India at elevations of 2000 to 3000 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying alternate, ovate to oblong-lanceolate, acute, undulate margined leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, secund, lax, 2 to 6" [5 to 15 cm] long, several flowered inflorescnece with longer than the flowers, ovate-lanceolate floral bracts
