Common Name The Milky White Flowered Habenaria

Found in Jalisco and Michoacan states of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with small subterraneoan tubers giving rise to an erect stem enveloped completely by leaf sheath bases carrying distichous, strongly carinate, erect, adpressed to the stem, linear-lanceolate, acuminate leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, 3.2" [8 cm] long, to 15 flowered inflorescence.
"Habenaria lactiflora is very similar and related to H. jardeliana but it has an even more prominent keel of the floral bract and a very loose reticulum; the anterior segment of the antrorse petals; the oblong, spatulate, obtuse middle lobe of the labellum; the spur barely longer than the ovary; the column with an arched back; the channels of the anther and the arms of the rostellum slightly arched."
