Common Name The Sierra Leone Habenaria
Flower Size .8" [2 cm]
Found in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Congo and Gabon in the undergrowth of rainforests at elevations of 70 to 1350 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial or sometimes as a lithophyte on rock or epiphyte with tuberous roots giving rise to an annual, erect, leafy stem carrying lanceolate, middle ones largest, basally clasping leaves held at an acute angle to the stem that blooms in the late summer and fall on an erect, 10 to 20 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, shorter than ovary floral bracts.
