Found in Peru at elevations of 1500 to 2500 meters as a large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a stout stem carrying all along, oblong-lanceolate to lanceolate-elliptic, acute or shortly acuminate, ascending, more or less imbricating leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, thick, densely many flowered, to 9.2" [22.7cm] long, several flowered inflorescence
