Found in southern Brazil and Uruguay at elevations of 1700 to 2200 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect stem enveloped completely by oblong, acute, three nerved, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, densely many flowered inflorescence
