Common Name The Muricate Habenaria [refers to the hairs on the inflorescence]

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Borneo and the Philippines in shady forests at elevations of 120 to 300 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing terrestrial with a spiny [muricate] stem carrying 3 to 4, basal, oblong-lanceolate to elliptic, acuminate, thin, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer, fall and winter on an erect, terminal, loosely many flowered inflorescence carrying small, greenish white flowers.

CAUTION The Drawing by Wu Zhanghua is from the Flora of China Vol 25 2009. I have no idea of what Habenaria it represents. In the book it is listed as H hystrix which is a synonym of H muricata. I can find no reference of its coming from China Sooooo??????
