Common Name The Bizarre Habenaria
Flower Size .4" [1 cm]
Found in India, Assam and Myanmar as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial with 2 tubers giving rise to an erect stem carrying all along the stem, ovate to slightly cordate, acute leaves that blooms in the early spring on an erect, 1.6" [4 cm] long, several to many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate bracts and lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
Flora Of Thailand Orchidaceae Vol 12 Part 1 Pedersen, Kurzweil, Suddee & Cribb 2011 andd Kew cite this species as a synonym of H malintana .
Ames states that the tubers of this species are edible.
CAUTION I have no way of knowing if this determination is correct so use with caution.
