Found in Japan and Korea as a small to medium sized, erect, terrestrial with small, ovoid or ellisoid tubers with an erect, slender terete stem carrying 3 to 7, linear-lanceolate, acumionate, suberect leaves with basal leaf sheaths and blooms in the summer on a terminal inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts and 1 to 3 showy flowers.
