Found in Minas Gerias, Rio de Janiero, Sao Paulo and Parana and Santa Catarina states of Brazil in higher elevation grasslands as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an erect, stem enveloped by lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the later summer and earlier fall on an erect, terminal, 2 to 3.2" [5 to 8 cm] long, 4 to 8 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, longer than the flowers below and shorter than the ovary above floral bracts
