Found in Chihuahua within the Sierra Madre and Jalisco states of Mexico and Guatemala in cool damp soils under pines as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial with a stout, erect stem enveloped by imbricate ovate to ovate lanceolate sheaths and carrying acute to acuminate leaves that blooms on a short, 6 to 8 flowered inflorescence with foliaceous, much longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying large flowers,
